Kathy Admire and Waterfall PhotoI am passionate about photography. Even as a young child I saw the world differently – and with much greater clarity – through the lens of a camera.

Kathy Admire Photography was born in 2000, in response to a chance encounter with an elderly gentleman who challenged me to see if I had the eye of a photographer. Words can’t even begin to capture the joy I experience in making images and sharing them with others. For me it’s a spiritual experience. Sometimes it is as though I go into a different dimension. Time in the normal sense ceases to exist.

My passion is to awaken people to the beauty that surrounds us. One doesn’t have to hike in the back-country or travel to exotic foreign lands to find extraordinary images — they are everywhere just awaiting discovery.

My work appears in private and public collections. I have received numerous awards locally, nationally and internationally, including “Best of Show” in several competitions. I love to teach photography. Whether I am working with people on how to shoot stunning photos during a Holland America cruise to Alaska, or working with “at risk” children to tap into their creativity, I am always looking for new ways to interact with people who want to expand their knowledge of taking artistic photographs. Several of the individuals I have mentored individually and in group workshops now sell their own work and have gone on to win local, state and national photography awards. I offer affordable art through prints for homes and offices, photo cards, and calendars. You can see my images, arranged as albums, at Flickr.com/KathyAdmire.

I will always be a lifelong learner and my horizons continue to expand. It is a privilege to share my images with you.
